OK, had the pre-op with Dr. Zeegers today. Looking good. Will post again tomorrow night, after surgery, if not too doped up.

Kirk,

Good luck, we'll be thinking of you. It must be exciting to finally be there. All the best!

glad you finally made it to germany... more best wishes from sunny california! you'll have a new spine very soon. look forward to hearing about it.
all the best for a successful surgery and relatively painless recovery! the fact that you get to keep your natural disc at L5-S1 i think will add to a successful outcome.

I wish the best, Kirk. Your history sure sounds so similar to mine. And you are in good hands!

I am almost ten hours post-op. All went well. Dr. Zeegers is pleased. He showed me the films, which look good. The discs he took out were "worn out".

I have some numbness in my left hand - not sure what that is about. The old back twinges are gone. Incision hurts a bit, but not too bad. Haven't had to ask for any pain meds. Can get up on my own and walk to the bathroom. Haven't ventured into the hall yet.

Sorry, this isn't a great literary effort, but I am still pretty wiped out.

Thanks for all the good wishes!

LOL on "great literary effort" .

First, thank you for posting.
Second, get some sleep.

You are ten (10) hours after surgery, posting to the web, walking, found the bathroom, ~good news. Are you going this alone, or do you have moral support (Danielle?) with you. Glad you are in good hands with Dr. Zeegers and it was two-levels and not three-levels.

Take care sir,

Got my Mom here, she's down at the Holiday Inn. Comes during the day. Danielle is at home with our son. Thanks, Kirk
