I need some advice. I take my Norco 10/325 when I go to bed to make sure I get a good nights rest. Sometimes when I know I have overdone things I will take one to take the edge off. I feel I can do without it most of the time and don't know how to tell if I am craving it. Can someone please help me figure it out? Thanks

Paul

You've just had major, major surgery. If you are taking pain medication for the pain it will not cause euphoria and your likelihood of becoming addicted is slim. You may become physically dependent after a period of time but any good doctor can come up with a come down procedure to help bring you safely off of the medication. You need to allow the medication to work as you do yourself no good by living in pain. This is not a good way to live life as it does not aid in your healing process. Take the medication as long as you are in pain and you will be fine.

I have been in the field of addiction medicine for thirty years.

Terry,

Thank you for the input. I have not had any real direction in the use of narcotics since I have never had a need.

No problem since we are all in this together.

Happy 4th.
