I've had acupuncture post ADR as I'm sure some others on here have. My course was done by my PT. There are no contraindications as far as I know? I went twice a week for 2 weeks then once a week for a month. I found it very relaxing & always slept well after a treatment but as regards to pain control it did very little in the big scheme of things.

I have however had acupuncture successfully in my shoulder after damaging it in a fall. For that I saw a Chinese Dr & after a session he put these wonderful herbal plasters on afterwards that I had to keep on for I think 24 hours.

All the best,

There may be some contradiction if they use electric stem on the needles. I have had that before ADR, not after. Check with your surgeon.

July 31, 2006 Surgery successfully completed Prodisc-C C5/C6 on in Straubing, Germany by Dr. Bertagnoli. Able to work full time since 1 month post op, but some pain remains.
10/2008 3 surgeons confirm C6/C7 needs ADR and always has.
Has anyone had a second ADR surgery on an adjacent level?

Ladies, thank you for your comments. After all I may not need it as this is a nerve root problem. Waiting to hear from the surgeon what to do next.

Actually, my surgeon had mentioned to try chiro or osteopath and when asked about acupuncture, he never said anything.
