Baguera Cervical Disc
In January'15 I had my right hip resurfaced. My surgeon was personal friends with one of the developers of the Baguera cervical disc, and told me all about it. Because wear debris is a common and major complication with artificial hips, my hip surgeon was especially excited about the Baguera disc.
All articulating surfaces of the implant are covered with a 'diamond-like' coating, meaning that all wear debris is ... carbon. Since our physiology knows what to do with carbon, wear debris will never be a problem if you get one of these devices. The best I could tell from my hip surgeon, this disc was developed to solve that problem. If you want to have a look at this device, here is a brochure. |
Thanks Jeff. I'll also clone this topic and put a copy in the Mfr. Information forum.

very cool
I get so excited about where spinal surgery can be in another 5-10 years! This looks like another generation all over again. Awesome contribution JSS, thanks! We'll be keeping out eye on the progression...
