In Canada you say?

Proponent of privatized health care says his plan ‘is about making medicare better’

IMO about time we get on a multi tier system.

A great debate on the Canadian news channels happening on this.

Jane Philpott, Candian Health Minister, typical politician, knows nothing about the Canadian Health system that she speaks on behalf of.
Yes, our Canadian Health system is rapidly turning into a kwicky-mart, with "doctors" finding out how to make a quick buck, not about patients care anymore.

Canadian Health Care System

As with ALL government run systems.....they quickly refrain from being responsible to the ones they serve/pay their wages and we can do nothing to fire them or hold them able to supplying the taxpayers with anything in the private system as they get paid for whatever sh!t treatments they shove down our throats for the cheapest costs (and 40 year old technology) that they can get away with. On the other hand, thousands of smoking 400 pounders wandering into their 100% free(??) medical clinics weekly with a litany of maladies and overloading the system with their 'needs' when the diagnoses is walk a mile a day and pull the fork out of your face is the real diagnosis.!!!
The provincial election about 6 years ago with complaints of the medical system in BC had a local group of reporters go to Norway, Sweden, UK, GmbH and France to evaluate their systems.....and they were scored on 3 indices; patient wait times, technology and patient satisfaction. Guess who won? FRANCE!!!!! I know, they complain about EVERYTHING there in that socialist country. Here's the kicker, they are about 49.2% private and 50.8% public and their contracts/work/patients/money is awarded on them being the 'best quality care' to the patients based on those 3 indices. What a concept.....competition and the gov't staying in the background ONLY as an arm's length third party governmental body ensuring the taxpayers are looked after and getting the best bang for their money.!!!

What a concept.!!

This is all over the news here in Canada. Heard today that if the doctor wins in B.C. there will be an automatic referral to the supreme court of Canada by the government. The B.C. doctor has been accused of "being backed by large US insurance companies".

It'd be the best and only real progress in the Cdn Medical system in 3 decades....I hope he wins it. There's already a precedent in Kebec.

Hopefully he will win in B.C. and it will be uphelp by the supreme court. I'm all for health care for anyone that needs its BUT where was that health care when I needed it? A costly trip to Germany paid out of pocket, that's where it was! As I've stated before, my dogs get better care from their vet now that I've lost my GP. And more GPs will retire. I recently was turned down by ones GPs office stating "with all the retiring doctors, we just can't keep up".
