Default Hybrid surgery ADR/fusion

My doctor recommends a L4/L5 Prodisc and a fusion at L5/S1 have anyone had this type of treatment done. If so what was surgery like and how is the recovery going. I can't afford ADR at both spots.

Hi Bahg,
I had a fusion at L5-S1 along with two ADR at L3-L5. I'm 7 weeks post op and seem to be doing pretty well. I'll say that I think those who have just ADR seem to be pain free faster (at least that's what I've been reading) than someone with fusion or hybrid. I've been in PT now for about 30 days and I've lowered my pain med dosage in half, but still need them.

I walk about 5500-6000 steps a day (I have a pedometer), but still struggle with sitting upright for more than 20 minutes at a time. Thankful I work from home, or I'd have had to take short term disability.

Don't forget to use the search function here...as that's how I spent my initial days here, just searching using keywords that were meaningful to me.

Hope that helps, we're here for each other!
