Several members have written to me asking about organic foods, supplements, stores, etc. So, I assembled a list of a few of the websites that I frequent.

www.standardprocess.com

www.qualityhealth.com

www.health.com

www.deliciouslivingmag.com

www.thehealthdepot.com

www.cookinglight.com

www.wholefoodsmarket.com

Many of these sites provide articles, coupons, recipes, and links to other sites. I hope you find these interesting and informative.

Are there any discrepancies (sp?) between various supplements/vitamins? For example, how would you know which ones are actually "natural" and ones that claim to be?

Good question, in order to know the difference between food/plant based and synthetic you need to read the label. For example, one of my supplements only has 4% of my daily value, but the other ingredients are bovine bone, dried pea juice, oat flour, bovine liver, beet root (just to name a few). A simple guide that helps is that if the ingredient list does not consistent of words with more than 3 syllables, there's a good chance it's plant based. Also, are the companies producing them all organic. This makes a difference. To learn more you can read the Standard Process site.

I do not want to sound like an Internet advertisement for a particular company, I just have more experience with SP. My naturopath is assembling some more information for me to share with the forum regarding finding stores and items that are organic and all natural without shopping at a specialty store.

I just received a new shopping guide for finding the healthiest foods in supermarkets and health food stores. It is published by the Weston A. Price Foundation, a nonprofit nutrition education foundation. You may be able to request a copy at: www.WestonAPrice.org

Here are two more websites that provide many references to organic living and health:

www.mercola.com

www.organicstyle.com

Please enjoy and lat me know what you think...

If you are near a Whole Foods store they have plenty of organic chips. My favorite are Guiltless Gourmet Spicy Black Bean on Blue Corn Chips.
