Default C6-C7 Mobi-C ADR Post Op 4 months-41year old active female

Hello,

I had Mobi-C ADR on March 9th of this year. I am now almost 5 months post op and would like to share my experience so far. First my problems started with my shoulder 2 years ago and then my neck a year ago. Shoulder pain and neck pain...burning pain. Did physical therapy for shoulder multiple times and cortisone shots. year later had X-ray taken of neck to find out neck was straight and was given pt for that. After pt, had mri done and it showed herniated disc c6-c7 and moderate spinal stenosis. More pt,tens unit, and the cervical injection and it did nothing. Wanted to look into ADR. Went to a couple of surgeons. Went with the one my friend had done surgery with. He is a surgical PA.

My surgery went well. I am a teacher so I only took 3 days off and then I used my spring break which was the next week to recover. I was back to work on March 19th. I followed all my surgeons orders and returned for a follow up a month later with the Nurse Practitioner. Scar looked good and I was feeling great. Six weeks post op had X-ray taken, disc looked perfect. Fast forward to last week of June (almost 4 months post op) painted my bathroom ceiling over span of 2 days. Monday, July 3rd went to Home Depot to get fencing supplies planks and posts, loading and unloading. July 4th wake up with excruciating pain...burning pain in neck, shoulders and down my arms. Took muscle relaxers, IBUPROFEN, Tylenol, used heating pad, tens unit and theracane to help with any knots. This past Monday, two weeks later, I email surgeon through portal and explain everything and they ordered X-rays. Surgeon still hasn't analyzed X-rays and hope to hear from him soon. I have been trying to lay low until I know what is going on. For the most part, my pain can be managed but, masking the problem isn't going to solve my issue. I do not regret my decision one bit. If this fails, I can always go the fusion route. Where is if I did a fusion, there was no going back. Who knows, it might be something minor like a muscle strain and I am over reacting. I have X-rays and mri photos I would like to share if I can figure out how to post them. I will let you know what surgeon says about X-rays.

Hey Rajin,

Thanks for posting and sharing. Your post-op experience seems similar to the many hundreds of people who have overdone it post-op! Take it easy. Get a massage. Epsom salt baths. Walking, hiking and biking are all all good (biking maybe 4-6 months out).

When you can, pls add a signature. Thanks and happy healing.
