Intro and nine days until Surgery
Hi I am scheduled to have two-level (C5-C7) ADR Mobi-C surgery on 12/21 here is Colorado with Vikas Patel. Here is a little bit about my cervical issues. I was first diagnosed in 2009 with DDD at c5-c6 and c6-c7. I rehabbed everything in 2009 and was back to normal until 2014. Since 2014, I have had three major injuries with each one setting me back around three months or so. In between the serious bouts, I experience weakness in my left arm and have been able to live with the condition. In September of 2016 I had a serious setback, and I been having pain and discomfort every since. Anyways, I have tried multiple conservative measures and have not had any long-term relief. I am very nervous about the whole procedure and wanted to document my surgery and recovery on this forum. If anybody has any advice, it would be much appreciated. I am currently not in serious pain, but do have numbness and aches all up and down my left arm.

Hi JZ,
Welcome but sorry you are here. This board contains tens of thousands of posts going back to 2004, you'll have lots of reading to do. The search function above works well too. When you can: http://www.adrsupport.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11053 Do you think the original problem that bothered your cervical spine wad trauma? And are you hoping to get insurance to cover this?

If I had to guess, I would say the issue is hereditary. My dad had really bad back issues and so did his dad. I did get insurance approval through United to pay for the two level procedure. I have received so much conflicting information regarding surgery, but I have been encouraged by some of the success stories on here regarding the two level procedure.
