I'm 10 weeks post-op today and am enjoying my freedom from my lower back pain. Now I feel sore from working out and jogging on my treadmill!! Man it feels great to do what I want to do...

I have not had an ADR - - But the ab routine on www.chirogeek.com is pretty good. Before my back problems these would have seemed easy, but now, they are just right. Maybe a bit on the easy side .. . but you can try them and see.
They are under the "exercise" section. You might have already looked at these . . . if so sorry for the post. ciao dmh |

Ok talked to my Dr. today and told me not to jog on the treadmill. So I have to readjust my workout routine. Oh well, better to be told than told by my an injury...

I'd be stoked if I could do the crawl/butterfly for an hr/day post ADR.
Dig those endorphins; craazy w/o 'em.

I know for me, I wasn't supposed to be jogging until a minimum 12 weeks post op. I didn't attempt it until prob. closer to 5 mos or so post-op with of course doctors consent. Both my ADR doctor as well as the ADR doc who follows me in US say its fine at this point.
We'll see if that continues with new issues I have. Good luck, take care, Bill

This is a gut opinion but I wouldn't do any pounding on a post ADR spine until six months. And at that, I'd seek swimming or hiking vs. running (too many kness surgeries from this). Just an unasked for opinon. Why push a good thing that's difficult to replace/modify?

You should have been given an exercise routine - - -if not go back and ask.

You guys aleady know this, but many ADR docs don't prescribe exercise routines. The larger or more sophisticated practices are "Set Up" or "organized" in such a way that they have staff dedicated to post op care. It's one more question to ask the doc when you are "shopping" for ADR...
